Science will mostly be fun activities that can be done in the kitchen with simple supplies. We will then go over the chemical reactions that make the final product possible. Everyone will be doing this together.
We will be teaching simple block coding using an online coding platform. The skills will be taught in a fun way that incorporates drawing!
The first part of the engineering block will be simply studying different structures and figuring out how they work. After that, we'll build towers and bridges out of common household objects. At the end, we'll have races, where the kids race to see who can make a stable structure the fastest. Everyone will be doing this together.
We'll be tailoring the math lessons to fit the level of each kid. For the youngest kids, we'll do simple multiplication and division, and later advance to PEMDAS (order of operations). For the oldest, we'll teach basic algebra or higher, depending on their skill level. Everyone will learn math of their level.
There will be at least one fun activity for each part of the camp: math, science, engineering, and coding. Some examples are building a stable structure out of food, creating something edible using a chemical reaction, and coding a game using block coding. Everyone will be doing these activities together.
